How it works

Most PDF forms fall into two categories: forms built with fillable fields, and flat, scanned documents with no interactive fields at all. This tool detects which type you've uploaded and adapts automatically.

Filling a form step by step

Upload your PDF, and the editor opens with a toolbar at the top. If your PDF has real fillable fields (an "AcroForm" PDF, like most government and HR forms), those fields become directly editable. If it's a flat or scanned document instead, click anywhere on the page to place a text box exactly where you need it. When you're done, click "Continue" to generate your finished document.

Adding a signature

Draw a signature with your mouse or finger and place it anywhere on the document — useful for contracts, waivers, and consent forms.

Is it safe?

Uploaded files are automatically deleted from our servers within 24 hours, and download links expire after 15 minutes.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account to use this?
No. There's no signup or login required — upload a PDF and start filling it out right away.

Does this work on scanned PDFs, not just fillable forms?
Yes. If your PDF doesn't have interactive form fields (common with scanned documents or older PDFs), you can still click anywhere on the page to place text or a signature exactly where it's needed.

How is this different from the other PDF tools on this site?
This tool is server-processed rather than fully browser-based, since it needs to finalize and generate the completed PDF for you to download — that's why files are stored briefly (and automatically deleted within 24 hours) rather than never touching a server at all. The other PDF tools on URLPDQ, like Merge and Split, run entirely in your browser with no upload.

Why does my download link expire so quickly?
The 15-minute expiration is a privacy measure — once you've downloaded your finished document, there's no reason for a copy of the link to remain valid, which limits how long a filled and signed PDF is reachable if the link were ever shared or intercepted by mistake.

Can I use this on my phone?
Yes. Both filling in fields and drawing a signature work with touch, so you can complete a form on a phone or tablet as well as a desktop.
